THE AIR DUCT CLEANING PROCESS

​On your cleaning day our air duct cleaning specialist will arrive promptly at your property. Our specialist will review recommendations made during the initial site visit. The mechanical area will then be staged with the specialty air duct cleaning equipment. Access points will be made in the ductwork at the supply side and return side of the system. It is important to clean each side separately to ensure that contaminants won't be drawn into the internal air handler components during the cleaning process. Next a powerful HEPA filtered vacuum will be attached to the supply ductwork, at the air handler, creating a negative pressure throughout the supply side of the system. This important to ensure that dust and debris won't puff back into the living space during the cleaning process. The supply registers are then removed and HEPA vacuumed. Pneumatic equipment is sent through the supply branches agitating and dislodging adhered debris from its internal surfaces. Compressed air is used to push the newly dislodged debris into the main supply trunk. After all supply branches have been cleaned the pneumatic equipment is then sent through the main supply trunk. Once all supply ductwork is cleaned the process is repeated for the return side of the system. After all ductwork is cleaned the internal components of the air handler are cleaned. All access points made will then be permanently sealed. The air filter is then replaced. The final step is to restart the system and ensure the system is operating property.  ​

WHAT IS AIR DUCT CLEANING?

Air duct cleaning is the process of cleaning various components of the heating, ventilation and air condition (HVAC) system. These components will include supply and return ductwork, supply diffusers, return grills, heating and cooling coils, blower motor and blower housing, condensate drain pans, and the air handler housing. If installed incorrectly or not maintained properly, these components could become contaminated with dust, pollen, or debris. If moisture is present there is potential for microbial growth which can negatively impact the air in the living space.
